About Dr. Maryam Al Qaydi

I am a board-certified consultant in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery, with a strong academic and clinical foundation. My journey in this field began with a passion for excellence, which led me to successfully pass the European Board exams in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery in November 2016, earning the prestigious European Board Certification.

My expertise was further enriched through a specialized fellowship in Laryngology, Voice Disorders, and Sleep Apnea, making me the first physician in the UAE to obtain this unique fellowship. This achievement reflects my deep commitment to advancing care in these subspecialties and providing innovative, patient-centered solutions.

With extensive experience as a consultant in otolaryngology, I have combined clinical practice, leadership, and education to make a significant impact in the field. From 2018 to 2023, I served as the Program Director of the Otolaryngology Residency Program, guiding and preparing the next generation of specialists. My leadership roles extend to serving as the Secretary of the UAE Otolaryngology Board since 2020 and as a member of the Institutional Review Committee (IRC) under the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) for surgical specialties since 2021. Additionally, I contribute to the National Institute for Health Specialties as a member of the Central Accreditation Committee, Review Committee, and the Subcommittee for Observers.

Beyond my leadership roles, I have been an Assistant Professor at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, UAE University, since 2022. Passionate about education, I actively engage in teaching medical students, trainees, and residents, aiming to share my expertise and inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals.

I adopt a holistic approach to healthcare and leadership as an Ambassador for Happiness and Well-being. My qualifications also include a Diploma in Body Language and a specialized training program in Healthcare Systems Management, providing me with unique insights into leading medical teams and efficiently navigating complex healthcare systems.

Additionally, I am an experienced organizer and speaker at international conferences, where I share insights and advancements in my field to foster collaboration and innovation in healthcare.
